Q: How Do I Get Rid Of Junk Mail?

Overflowing mailboxes rejoice! We have the tips that will reduce the amount of junk mail shipped to you and how to protect yourself from getting more.

Junk mail starts arriving just weeks after residents move in or get a new phone number because both events add names to the biggest telemarketing and advertising resource: phone books. Having an unlisted phone number might help with the telemarketing, but the direct mail companies can also use public records such as housing titles and motor vehicles records to get your mailing address.

To get the flood of junk mail to stop, youll need to do a little work and have a little patience. .

AMD execs talk purchase considerations for physics acceleration ...

Few would claim the AMD/ATI merger this point has gone well. John Peddie Research claims ATI only commands a 17.5% share of the graphics market currently, representing a loss in market share. This comes at the same time that NVIDIA, ATI's largest rival, is posting record profits with its first billion dollar quarter. AMD's Richard Huddy said last week that GPU physics is dead for now after the Intel acquisition of Havok. AMD may consider the purchase of physics hardware manufacturer AGEIA; a topic that comes up every three months apparently. A purchase of AGEIA would allow direct competition between AMD and Intel in the physics world and could open up the ability for hardware based physics acceleration on ATI graphics cards and in AMD processors. The biggest reason the purchase of AGEIA by AMD is not likely to happen is one of cash.

Osler chooses SolCom for records management

William Osler Heath Centre issued an RFP in 2006 in search of a qualified Electronic Health Information Management (e-HIM) Solution. SolComHealth was the e-HIM solution chosen to handle WOHCs records management and workflow management goals. Specific goals are to expedite and improve chart deficiencies, information requests and compliance reporting.

According to the company, SolComHealth shined in its cost-effectiveness and integration power with Medseek, the existing clinical portal system, and Meditech, the existing clinical information system at WOHC.

Adding SolCom to our environment gives our physicians a single sign-on interface to access all clinical information, said Judy Middleton (pictured), Chief Information Officer for WOHC. Choosing SolCom enhances not only one facilitys immediate needs, but the long-term needs of our entire network.

ICICI comes to Sensex’s rescue

The newly listed Burnpur Cement was the worst hit among the more heavily traded non-Sensex stocks with a 33% dive. It was followed by BSEL Infrastructure Realty, BPCL, PTC India, Videocon Industries, Hindustan Motors and Mercator Lines with losses between 16% and 19%.

INTERMEDIATE TREND: The market has managed to remain in an intermediate uptrend, despite the intermediate trend for most global markets staying down. The Sensex and Nifty started their intermediate uptrends from November 22, '07. The Sensex had bottomed out at 18183 on that day. The CNX Midcap has been in an uptrend since October 22, '07. The levels below which the intermediate uptrend will end remain 20023 for the Sensex, 6022 for the Nifty and 8430 for the CNX Midcap. It will be more practical to see the downtrend trigger levels as the round figures of 20000 for the Sensex, 6000 for the Nifty and 8400 for the Midcap index.

Homosexuality about emotions, not behavior

Look again at the fact that I got a little thrill. Was my emotional reaction a sin? If God created me with this capacity, then it hardly could be called a sin.You who do not share my experience might ask yourselves, ``Could I become homosexual if I wanted to?'' I think most of you would answer ``no.'' So likewise, I could not choose to be like you.One of my points here is that homosexuality is defined by a set of emotional responses, not by behavior. If you can see that, then you must, in my opinion, consider the theological implications. I did not sin.Gene NadenBloomington .

Just how mobile can Internet go?

It's an area we're watching very closely," said Scott Lingren, director of product group marketing at Dell Inc.

On Tuesday, at another tech conference in San Francisco, Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs is expected to give updates about the next iPhone that could transform the device into an even more full-featured mobile Internet device.

If they live up to their promise, mobile Internet devices will let you do some of what you can do with a laptop: browse the Web, send e-mails, work on office documents and edit photos.

They'll let you do what you can do with an iPod or other media player, only with a bigger screen.

And they'll let you take pictures and make phone calls, as you can with a camera phone today.

The question is, do most consumers need or even really want such a device when we already have so many other ways to do the same things?

At this point, probably not, said Michael Gartenberg, an analyst at tech consulting firm Jupiter Research Inc.
