SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- http://www.Marketo.com -- Marketo, a provider of affordable, easy-to-use marketing automation software that helps B2B marketing professionals drive revenue and improve accountability, today added testing functionality to its landing page creation solution. This combination will make it easy for B2B marketers to create and test targeted landing pages without requiring any HTML, coding or website modification.

A landing page, accessible when a prospect clicks a link in a pay-per-click ad, online banner or direct email campaign, is a vital piece of any marketing program since it helps to ensure the click converts into a lead.

A well-tested landing page can make the difference between the prospect clicking away or becoming a lead.

Wall Street slide reverses with big rally

Other financials rallied to lead the broader market higher.

The financial sector has been battered since summer, when a credit crunch arose from fears that banks and other US investors were overexposed to high-risk, so-called subprime mortgages, which have produced growing default rates.

"Perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel," Stewart Capital Advisors President Malcolm Polley told the Bloomberg financial news agency. "Large banks are finally starting to deal with the problem in an up-front manner, which brokerages started doing in September and October."

The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 215 points, or 1.69 per cent, to 12,958.44. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 Index, amid its worst month in five years, regained 21.01 points, or 1.49 per cent, to 1,428.23.

Economic Partnership Agreements

It is expected that these will help new investment and employment opportunities in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

West Africa: Ivory Coast and Ghana

On December 7 the European Commission initialled a stepping stone Economic Partnership Agreement with Ivory Coast and on 13 December with Ghana. The agreement enables Ivory Coast and Ghana to benefit from significantly improved market access to the EU as from 1 January 2008. This will be an immediate boost for investment and growth in these countries. Negotiations on a similar stepping stone EPA are ongoing with other West African countries. In any event, negotiations on a full EPA covering all West African countries and covering also trade in services, in vestment and trade related rules, will continue in 2008.

Goods Covered

The stepping stone EPA allows for 100% liberalisation by value by the EU as of 1 January 2008, with transition periods for rice and sugar.

Emily Spence: On Cooperation and Competition

At the same time, meerkats will, when they come across a den of others of their kind, purposefully invade it to slaughter all of the young (potential future competitors for resources) by mercilessly biting them to death. Furthermore, the top female, if she is in estrus, will breed with "enemy" males, ones outside of her troop that she might come across. So, it seems that the tendency toward promoting a large gene pool (or, conversely put, an injunction against incest) is not only a trend amongst humans, but applies to other species, too.

In the same vein, we see multitudinous illustrations of the same sort of behaviors occurring amongst people. In disgust and horror, we can remember the many, fairly recent murders carried out between different competing factions in Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia, Ireland and several other countries.
